You understand your patterns. So why haven’t things changed?
You’ve put a lot of effort into understanding your trauma and where things went wrong.
You see how your past has impacted your ability to trust yourself and feel safe in the world.
You know your triggers, your reactions, and the ways you’ve learned to cope with the pain.
And yet, when it matters most, you still find yourself doing things you promised yourself you wouldn’t do.
Despite how good you’ve become at covering up your pain, you know it’s still there.
Despite how good you’ve become at understanding your trauma, you’re beginning to realize that all the understanding in the world isn’t enough to change your experience of life.
You’re not failing. You need a new approach.
While understanding what went wrong can inspire a great deal of healing,
it is simply not enough to treat the root of trauma.
Here’s how you know if you’re ready for something deeper:
From the outside, you may look like you’re keeping it together. You’re capable, thoughtful, and get things done. People may even look to you as an emotional leader.
But inside, you’re constantly tracking the energy of others, anticipating their moves, and trying to stay one step ahead.
You might find yourself:
- Habitually overriding your boundaries, and feeling fear or guilt when you attempt to set them
- Cycling through the same relationship patterns even though you know better
- Overanalyzing yourself, your instincts, and decision making
- Saying yes, when you really mean no (or vice versa)
- Taking on responsibility for other people’s emotions, comfort, or happiness
If this sounds familiar, you’re not failing at healing. You’ve done the work to recognize your patterns and you’re ready to take the next step towards true, lasting relief.

Hi, I’m Frank.
I work with adults struggling to turn insight into embodied change.
I’ve been there… In my early twenties, I experienced a mental health crisis that significantly disrupted my ability to function. Despite understanding where my pain came from and how I wanted to change, I continued to experience the same outcomes in my relationships, work, and art- especially in the face of adversity.
Things changed after I found rock bottom and I was forced to reassess my approach. It was at this point that I began integrating my cognitive and mental work with somatic and depth psychology tools.
Together, these approaches contributed to a profound transformation in my experience of life. I became better able to recognize old patterns without automatically acting them out, stay connected to myself when life became difficult, and feel more trusting in myself.
